Permission Slip
Draft idea as aide memoire
Verse 1
You don’t have to carry the weight of the lie,
You don’t have to live till the day you die.
The boss won’t care, the crowd won’t see,
But freedom starts when you say “not me.”
Chorus 1
Here’s your permission slip to walk away,
Stop pretending every day.
Your title’s nothing, your heart is more,
There’s life beyond the office door
Verse 2
Here’s your paper crown, here’s your seat,
Bow to the spreadsheet, shuffle your feet.
But the truth leaks through the corporate hymn,
Your freedom starts when belief grows thin.
Chorus 2
Take this permission slip, tear it in two,
You don’t have to worship what isn’t true.
The empire’s hollow, the temple’s fake,
Your soul is yours to take.
I prefer v2 and c2 over v1 and c1. Which do you relate to?
